Veil...yes or no???

How many of you ladies are not wearing a veil on your wedding day? I'm not wearing one, but I am curious to know if anyone else is doing the same.

Thanks girls!

Re: Veil...yes or no???

  • I'm not going to wear one. I personally don't like the way it looked in my hair. i've been to a few weddings that they don't wear them.
  • I think it is just fine if you don't want to wear one.
Just keep in mind it may be the only time in your life you have the opportunity, so why not have some fun and live it up? I know I took mine off for dinner and dancing so it wouldn't 'bother' me all night. (I don't like things around my face/eyes.)
  • I can't pass up the opportunity :) You only get married...for the first time...once! And I'm hoping this is my one and only marriage, so I've got my poofy dress, sparkling veil, and everything else I really want to have.
  • Here is how I am approaching it.  On the wedding day, no.
I see almost NO photos in magazines or otherwise of veils.  Most brides seem to take them off for the reception anyway, and I think it often takes away from the dress.  (The only exception I have found are the veils that are what I can only describe as tents.  They create a beautiful effect. That being said) they are an expense that I want to spend elsewhere.  *I WANT those favors, hahaha.

One post mentioned "getting all the benefits" of a bride and I agree.  SO...I found a "clearance" veil for $20, yes....$20 and that is what I am wearing for my bachelorette party.  Let's face it, those party veils and plastic tiera's cost more than $20...so watch for the bridal salon "garage sale" or whatever they call them.

I will have my veil, and not have my veil, and eat cake too.  Whatever you decide, do what you want, or whatever will ensure you have no regrets.

  • I wore one, but Im pretty traditional.  I had always envisioned my wedding gown to have a super long train and I would wear a veil with a blusher.  So I did.  I did however take it off for the reception.  It really just boils down to how you have always pictured it?  Are you traditional or modern? And do you like it?  More and more people are not following trends and traditions and just doing what they like (including colored wedding dresses)!
