Holiday Inn Historic District

Hi everyone!I lurk on here pretty often, but don't post much. I'm getting married next August and our reception is at the National Constitution Center. I am looking into blocking hotel rooms now for OOT guests, and wondering if anyone has any experiences (good or bad) with the Holiday Inn in Old City. It seems like the most reasonable place in the area, and it's so close to the reception.

Also in the area -- the omni hotel and the Sheraton Society Hill.  I am not sure how much they would be, but certainly all within walking distance

My room block was there and our reception was only 1 block away, so 95% of my guests ended up staying there because it was the most logical and the price was right.  The only other hotel in the area that would match the price was the Comfort Inn on Delaware Ave and that place is not nearly as nice as the HI, not to mention, the location is sucky.I had over 50 rooms at the HI and I didn't have any problems whatsoever.  We got a comp bridal suite which wasn't bad at all, except since it's 2 different rooms ajoining (lounge on 1 side, room on the other) if you don't meet the minimum you are paying for 2 rooms technically.  We met the minimum Sat night, but not Friday night so I asked if they would comp us Fri night too since we had something like 50 rooms booked total between the 2 nights and they did it without even blinking an eye.Our OOT boxes were held at the front desk and they handed them out there to our guests.  I would most definitely recommend them.  I also gave our guests the option of the Omni, Sheraton Society Hill, and the Comfort Inn.  You had to guarantee a minimum at the Hyatt and I was not having that.

I would not suggest the Sheraton Society HIll. They were amazing to book with, but when we got there the night of, they had overbooked and didn't have a room for my brother, my parents, and my cousins. This was a huge inconvience after a marathon of a day that my parents put a lot of time and money into. Also, my guests were checking in around 3 pm, and they didn't have some rooms ready, and some didn't have towels to shower with. Just FYI- I wish I would have looked into Holiday Inn!

I can report back in a month, we booked there. the only issue i have had was that didn't want to extend our original block anymore which really isn't an issue for me but our guests who decided to book last minute.
