Escort cards

For the escort/ table seating cards - are married couples included on one card since presumably they are seated at the same table or should each person get a separate one?  We are doing votive holders for ours so I'm wondering how many I need to order.
Thanks!

Re: Escort cards

  • Traditionally escort cards are one per couple (they show who is escorting whom to the dining table). I think you'd be fine with one votive holder per person or one per couple, honestly, whichever you prefer.
  • We did one per couple :)
  • We're planning to do one per couple/family, but they're not our favors as well, so that might change my thought process.

[QUOTE]We did separate cards for everyone.  With something like a votive holder, I would do one per person.  I like candle holders to be in sets so I'd see one holder as useless and probably not even take it home.

We also did separates.  I also agree with duds comments.

  • hmmm, wow, i was going to reply to OP that i was planning on doing 1 per person, but may rethink and do 1 per family since we're only assigning tables.  We're attaching cards to sanddollars...do you think a family would want more than 1?  We've bought enough to do 1 per person - so that's not an issue.

What do you do if you're doing separate cards and the invitee has a +1? You don't know who their plus 1 will be, but you wouldn't put "John Smith's Guest" on a card, right? Do you do "John Smith & Guest" ?

  • I would 1 card per couple, especially if you are just assigning a table and not an actual chair.

Also on the RSVP card you have your guests send back you can ask them to write down all the names of those attending so you can do it either way and not have to put "John's guest"
