My fiance and I have been together for over 8 years now, and engaged for almost 2. My fiance lost his father to cancer last year and his mother is battling the disease as well. Any thoughts of planning a big wedding have really been thrown out the window because of, well life & it's ups and downs. Since we have been together so long, and are becoming quite anxious to wed, we are looking to possibly do city hall & then hold a small dinner thereafter for about 15-20 of our closest friends and family. We are really at a loss here b/c this is not quite how we invisioned our big day, but it seems like the most feasible for right now.
Can anyone share with me some experiences or ways that I can still personalize the day/dinner so that it still has a wedding feel?
