reception decor idea's

So we had to change our idea for the wedding as we originally wanted to get married behind a restaurant that had a veiw of a lake in the background but as it was late october we are getting married we would have had to rent tents and chairs and everything started to go out of our budget. Now we have found the local theater to be under our budget (which is awesome) but now we want to incorporate the old theater style into the wedding but want to make it romantic, classic and elegant all into one, i'm trying tothink of idea for decor in the reception and centerpieces. it is a theater for plays not movies. My colours are red, champagne and i haven't decided on a accent colour, my flowers are roses. if anyone has ideas or help would be great

This sounds like an awesome idea. My fiance's cousin did this at her wedding and it turned out awesome. She had the reception in the theater but had the wedding outside in the yard. It was out in the middle of the country right next to an old white church in the middle of SD.

This is just an idea, but maybe you can have your guests sitting down at their tables while for the ceremony, if you don't like that idea you can scrap it. If you are going to use the stage for anything I honestly would use low centerpieces so people can see. I love high centerpieces too, but in all reality they get in the way. Maybe you can find some old classic plays, and stack them up with a small vase of roses. Another idea would be to find some old play props or even just antique looking items such as brass or gold finish to place on your tables. Candles would work perfectly for this set up.

I used to do theater so I am loving your ideas! This is just the cheesy side of me, but maybe you two can have a couple of friends or even just some local actors to put on a show of how you two met and how your love has gotten to where you two are.
I could go on and on about this so I am going to stop for now!

lol the ceremony is in a theater so its much like the theater with the seats and everything our reception is in a hall so got to tie the theater into the hall decor but i like your ideas we have both been doing theater and when i first met him i was dating someone else but they were friends and both in the play he came up to me slick back greased hair and makeup
