I wasn't sure where to post this but I wanted to ask a Diabetes related question. I'm type 1 and will be getting married in about a year. I also just moved clear accross the country and havent found a new endo yet (it's in the works). I was wondering what suggestions you might have for maintaining blood sugar levels during the whole wedding shebang. I know that I'm going to get emotional, and when I do, my blood sugar tends to go all over the place. I don't want to walk down the aisle holding my continuous blood glucose monitor, glucose tabs and boquet, haha. I was thinking of giving my MOH my glucose tabs incase I needed them, giving my dad (who is also type 1) my blood monitor, and I'm having a discreet little pocket that hangs low sewn into the waistband of my dress for my pump since I dont want a legpouch and a garter, and I've decided that I personally won't be drinking any champagne or anything at all (we will still have an open bar!) since alcohol also makes my sugar out of wack. Is there anything else that I can or should do? What have previous diabetic brides done already? What did you guys or what will you guys eat the day before and the day of the wedding? I have time to talk to docs and such but I also wanted to get advice from people who've experienced this themselves. I don't know if I'm making too big a deal out of this? I just want to be as prepared as possible.
