Table linen poll

Hello all. I'll try to keep this short. Our May 8th wedding is being planned around a navy and clover green nautical/preppy feeling.
I just found out yesterday that our reception venue does not have the navy table cloths that they thought they had. They have very nice royal blue full length cloths that I can use for free. OR I can pay 5 dollars a table to have dark navy square overlays on top of full length white cloths- we have 20 tables so this will be $100.

Re: Table linen poll

  • Unless you absolutely can't live without the navy linens, go with whatever is free. Your guests won't notice or care that the shade of blue isn't an exact match, as long as they somewhat coordinate.
  • Other:  you can purchase them super cheap from http://www.linentablecloth.com/

I purchased mine on ebay http://myworld.ebay.com/linentablecloths/

I second Linen Tableclothm but I would buy from their eBay store instead.  20 54x54 polyester square Navy table cloths are $89.95.  You didn't mention what size you needed.

If you want satin, get them from their website www.linentablecloth.com You can get 20  -  60" square overlays for $104.60  free shipping.

Or you could get their 14 x 108 in. Satin Table Runner, 20 of them is $55.40

Either way you can resell them and make some of your money back.. Its what I'm doing for my linens.

  • Dont mix your blues. Royal blue and Navy are very similiar shade but it will really clash if you do. I suggest doing the overlays and concentrating on your centerpieces and etc.
  • I agree with *snatchingturkis* Blue is a very hard color, you can't really mix and match them.  Royal blue and Navy as well as the green might end up looking like a mish mash of colors.  I would either pay the $100 or get navy linens but shop around you could probably find them for cheaper, if your venue allows you.  If you are still debating I would highly recommend requesting a swatch of the royal blue and then put it up against the navy and green, better to take the time to try it then hate the outcome late. Good Luck
  • I have a similar problem.  Our colors are gold, white, and light pink.  The gold is more of a champage gold, not a rust gold.  I wanted to do white table clothes with gold napkins and overlays to match the gold sashes on our chairs.  The gold our venue offers for free is too rusty.  So we are renting the gold napkins and sashes and my MIL is making satin overlays that will compliment the gold napkins and sashes.  Do you know anyone that would be able to do something like that?  Joann's has 40% off coupons in the paper every week, so the material is not expensive at all, and they're not hard to make.
