anyone not using table covers/linens?

I was at a reception recently that had very sleek white tables with no tablecloths.  It looked fantastic. I am thinking I might go this route now.

Re: anyone not using table covers/linens?

  • I think if the tables look really nice on their own, no table covers are needed.  I don't know what kind of white tables you're talking about, but I've seen really beautiful wooden tables stand on their own with no linens.

To me, linens are just to dress up boring or ugly tables.  If you've got beautiful ones, save the money!  Just have pretty centerpieces.

  • We aren't using any. Im having a casual wedding and the tables look nice as is so I am just going to skip it. Linens will make things look to fancy plus I would rather not mess up the restaurants linens with all the booze and food we plan on having (our reception is more of a party then a dinner)

  • we are not using linens, we are getting married/reception in a historic art building that has beautiful rich woods and i think it would be a shame to cover them up-the tables are long and rectangular so we are lining the middle of the table with simple candles in small votive and having 2 small candelabra -thats it.

  • I saw a pic of a table with no linens for a bridal shower and I thought it looked great.  I am using linens but my fmil is making mine so that is saving me a ton of $$.

If you have beautiful tables, you don't need linens.  But if you have round plywood tables, or plastic banquet tables....well, there's no way that's going to look good.
