theme ideas!!!!!

The theme for our wedding is beer and wine.  I found lots of ideas for wine but I am having trouble with the beer side.  I found beer hops and barley for the centerpieces and a guinness replica cake.  Any ideas would be great!

Re: theme ideas!!!!!

  • i'm reminded of a restaurant that used empty beer bottles as salt and pepper shakers. that could be fun.
maybe find a recipes that use beer and wine in the food.
you could even use those big glass beer mugs as a make-shift hurricanes to put candles in.
  • maybe vintage beer pint glasses to hold candles or flowers?

  • Remember that when planning a wedding, a little "theme" goes a long way.  With a theme like "Wine and Beer", doing too much of either/both can make your wedding stop resembling a wedding and start looking like a frat party.

Molderation in decor is always a good idea.  GL
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • You should get that Guinness cake made with beer buttercream frosting.  Mmmm...
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • There is a restaurant near my home that has people who are there for special occasions sign wine bottles, almost like signing a yearbook. You could do this with some larger beer bottles. For instance, if you had them as part of the centerpieces, and then each person at the table signs the bottles. (Bonus if the bottles start out full and it's up to your guests to empty them!) If there is somewhere in your new home to display them, you could have them as memorabilia. I also really like gower2be's idea. That would be a fairly subtle way to incorporate them.
