save the date, new for south-africa

I am sure, that save-the-date is not a new idea, but it will be the first in my family and friends. So,we are getting married in September and I am trying to send them before the end of December. Still waiting for a few adresses. Now people are expecting it to be either a christmas card or the invite!! Our theme is vintage nostalgic, the whole idea start with my ring. See it a blue saphire ring and it is just have this nostalgic feel to it. So we decided to work around my engagement ring. So the real invites will be a newspaper, containing all the information needed. So know I would like to know, I did bought some paper, looking vintage, for save-the-date, must I incorparate these paper again into the invitation? Please help?? Sorry for any mistakes, english is not my first language. Thank you May.

Your STDs do not have to match your invites.  You should be fine.
