Colors of table linens question...I need your thoughts

       My main color is cornflower blue, and I have dragged my feet deciding a color to pair with it. I love a pretty green, but my wedding/reception will be at night and want to give the color scheme a romantic/pulled together feel. So my main question is, are blue tablecloths too much color overload? Since the wedding party will be in blue, would the blue table cloth just take the color theme to far? I was thinking maybe a chocolate brown table cloth with blue napkins, this way there is still blue on the table setting itself. Plus, I think a darker color such as brown makes the colorful pieces on the table have more "pop" to it.
    White is always a good option for linens, but I want the reception to look good at night. My reception venue is inside a barn(made for wedding receptions and such)with wood and white inside.

Thanks for any advice!=)

  • I think you pretty much can't go wrong here. Chocolate brown would be very nice. Black, eggplant, navy....all good choices. I'd stick to dark colors though....with the exception of white. Other than that, anything light or pastel will look very Easter/baby shower with light blue.

    Also...I LOVE green (using green and brown for my wedding)...but most likely it will not work with the cornflower. Green is tricky to get right....and you'll probably have a lot of trouble finding the right shade.

    Good luck!

    Agree.  I think chocolate brown is a nice color - it has a romantic feel.  Definitely go darker.
  • Thanks everyone. I will work with the chocolate and blue together.=)
