Hi, first let me say that my fiance and I aren't much for tradition. We aren't odd or ecentric, we just don't care about wedding cake or what people usually do or what anyone else thinks really. There won't be a father daughter dance, mother son dance etc. We have no pre conceived notions about what a wedding should be. But we do want to SHARE our celebration and happiness with those that care.
Our thoughts are: We definitely want to have an outdoor ceremony, we aren't super close to our families, we are paying for our own wedding, my father has passed away, his parents will be in attendance but aren't able to help and are both are non traditional as well.
Alot of our friends and family seem to act like they really want to come to the wedding and they are all looking forward to it. But we all know everyone says they will come but then only 1/3 show up.
We are a private couple and were thinking of just a small ceremony at a destination then off on the honeymoon. Thought it would save on the stress of planning. But then there's the reception? Do we have one? Do we spend that kind of cash? We don't want to dissappoint everyone but we also don't want to downplay the biggest day of our lives either.
So confused
