Can't figure out sig cocktail!!

So we are doing beer, wine, soda and a sig. cocktail... problem is we can't decide on the cocktail. He likes gin and tonic and I like the sweeter ones (especially the Blueberri Lemonade from Crave restaurant).  How can we come to a conclusion with something we are both happy with? Any ideas from other brides about drinks to try out?

Thanks!

  • Can you do two signature drinks?

Whiskey sours are sweet, but they don't seem too girly that a guy wouldn't want to drink one.

  • I had a drink last week that you both might like. It was served on the rocks in a collins glass. Gin, rasberry liqour, ginger ale. Garnished with lime and mint. It was delicious!

this is called a peacock tonic from Martha Stewart. it is our sig drink because peacock colors blue and purple are our colors and we both love gin.

I do second the whole two sig drinks with one white drink (gin, vodka or tequila) and one dark drink (whisky, or rum)... you can call them the brides drink and the grooms drink

this blue Hawaiian is also delicious

A wedding is a party, not a performance. If at the end of the day you are married to the one you love, then everything went perfectly.
  • Also from my experience if a guy thinks a drink is too girlie, he will either suck it up, drink it and enjoy it or opt for beer. So if you only make one drink than I would choose something you like. Most men go for beer anyway (not trying to stereotype but that is what I have seen at weddings)

  • Thanks ladies!! This helps a lot!! =]
  • Ever had a fruit flavored gin & tonic? I used to bartend and would make pomegranite G&Ts. They were tasty, slightly sweeter than the traditional one, but not "girly". You could look into adding a splash of fruit juice that compliments your colors or a flavored syrup (careful on the amount of syrup so it doesn't get sugary).
