Our cocktail hour is scheduled to happen in a lounge/bar type room at our venue. More than likely the cocktail 'hour' will be no more than about 45 minutes tops, but the room is standing room only with passed hors de'ourves. There will be cocktail tables around the room for people to set drinks on, but no seats except for a couch in the lobby, which can also be used by the guests to mingle in.
My question is, is it incredibly rude to have no seats for cocktail hour? There's no elderly guests that would need to sit, and putting chairs in the room just seems like it would make it more crowded. This way I can know to budget for chairs/barstools or something.
