how to hide a pool table!!

Well my wedding is less than a month away, and I have this huge thing thatis causing loads of stress. The venue is a restaurant/ bar, and well it has a pretty big pool table that can't be removed. I need some ideas on how to hide or camouflage it. I rented three large tablecloths really beautiful to cover it, but I still feel like I could do more, what do you think??

What about buying a really nice table cloth and then putting something on it such as .. engagement photos or pics of your family ? Maybe put a big flower arrangement in the middle with things all around it .. or even displaying your favors there? hope this helps..

Just don't draw attention to it, which is what trying to disguise it might do.  Who knows, your wedding could be a hit with guys who love to play pool if they spot it and decide to play.

Is there a reason that you don't want people to play pool?  I mean if there is dancing and general partying, I don't see why you would need to make the pool table off limits.

If you do need it to be off limits, then I agree with pp's suggestion of putting a centerpiece of some sort on it and family wedding pictures or maybe even use it as your cake table with the tablecloths down over the pool table.

How about covering it with table covering and making it your gift table?

Get a piece of plywood large enough to cover it from corner to corner and cover that with a tablecloth. If you just use the tablecloth without the plywood, it will still have the pool table shape; with the plywood it will just appear to be a large table -- and you won't risk damaging the table if people put drinks or something else down on it.

I agree with 10 cups of me.  Plywood is cheap, and pool tables are expensive if someone spills a drink on it covered with just a tablecloth.  What does the venue usually do with the pool table for weddings and private parties?

If you are having your reception at a less than elegant venue, trying to cover up the pool table won't make the place look classier.  It might even draw more attention to it, or the area surrounding the pool table.

If the pool table stands out like a big giant sore thumb against an otherwise elegant background, then put the sheet of plywood over it, cover it with tablecloths. It can be used for gifts and the guest book, baskets of favors, or even use it for cake, desserts, and punch. 

For a dramatic effect, you can put a cloth draped "platform" in the center of the table, by using a sturdy box, a bucket or punch bowl turned over.  Put something "showy" on it, like a large/tall floral arrangement, a fruit arrangement, tall candlesticks or candelabra, tropical leaves or a plant surrounded by candles, smaller plants, flowers, etc...

I agree with 10cups also.... def cover it with plywood (They may even already have a cover for it, I'd ask them) and then use a table clothes. Use it for gifts or appetizers.

I would still be worried about the table getting messed up by food and drink if there were plywood on it.  At most I'd use it for escort cards or gifts.

I agree with pp's! Use plywood, or check with the venue to see if they have something to cover it.  Pool tables are expensive, and putting extra weight directly on the felt is not a good idea!
