I could use some brainstorming assistance.
At our wedding in October, I am NOT planning to do the "traditional" bouquet toss. I've been to too many weddings as a "single girl" where I was embarrassed by this display to now in turn impose it on my (dwindling number of...) single girlfriends. I'd like to have a "couples" dance and present the toss-bouquet to the couple who has been married the longest.
The only hitch is that FI likes the whole garter-removal fun. I think it can be funny/amusing and don't have a problem with it (provided no one gets out of line - our grandparents will be there!), and while he might drop the issue in the future - I'm wondering: is there a way to have the garter kitchiness without then doing a garter toss (since we're not doing a bouquet toss?).
Your ideas are appreciated.
