Ugh! Color help!

So my venue's colors are chocolate and gold. Our wedding is a literary theme, with glamourous vintage touches (while staying fun) - any color suggestions? Our wedding is in Dallas in March.

Really hard. But I wanna do that because I want you

Re: Ugh! Color help!

  • If you want your colors to reflect the venue, maybe jewel tones like a burgundy or eggplant?  Or maybe go the opposite direction and use very light colors - ivory, champagne, or pale pink.

We didn't try to match our colors with the reception venue.  Our venue had black carpet and gold accents and our colors were royal blue and white with silver accents.  I don't think you could go wrong with another color since chocolate and gold would look good with a lot of different options.

  • Hey, come and join us on the DFW board!  We'd love to help!

We actually had a local literary themed wedding get featured on Style Me Pretty if you want to take a look.

Personally I love chocolate and gold!  My wedding was black and champagne so I'm probably biased.  :)

You don't need to match your colors to the venue's colors.  That being said, gold and chocolate are so neutral that anything goes with them.
