Wedding Recap - Some perspective on the reception

So, we had our wedding this past Saturday, and I'd like to give you a littlie perspective on what everyone was talking about after the reception.  LIke everyone else here, I spent a lot of time on details that I thought were necessary, critical, important - pick your word here.

What we got compliments on - the food and the general fun time that everyone had.  No one cared about the candle holders, the tablecloths, the table numbers.  A few of the women complimented me on the flowers (just simple roses that we stuck in a vase the night before the wedding).  We had a couple of comments on how "pretty" everything looked, but no one specifically said they liked any certain detail.

My advice is to stop worrying about the little things.  Put your efforts in to the food, maybe some basic pretty decor and the comfort of your guests.  That will put them all in a happy mood, and that more than anything else will make a memorable reception.

Also, and this might be the hardest thing - at some point you have to let go and let the party take on its own personality.  Trust me, it will turn out just fine.

Good luck and congratulations, everyone!
