Dyable Shoes

This is not a question on my engagement, but my friends. Her wedding is at the end of Sept. and I haven't gotten my shoes yet and they need to be dyed.Anyone know where I can do this and where to pick up dyable shoes? I don't want something that will cost me an arm and a leg. You should see the costs of the shoes she wants us to buy...!! Crazy! Thanks all!

Re: Dyable Shoes

  • Start with telling your friend to step out of the '90s and let you where a neutral color shoe, lol.  Sorry, it's that time of the month and I'm feeling a little grumpy.  Payless used to carry them but I'm not sure if they still do.
  • HAHAHAH!!! That is sooo funny!!!!!!!!!!! I know!! She wants them dyed like a lime green because our halters are green and the dress part is brown. Why couldn't we just buy brown shoes? It would be a lot cheaper!! Thank you.:-)
  • Now that's just dumb.  BTW I do know the proper use of where, wear and ware ;)
  • hahah...I didn't even catch that!!:-)
  • Try searching your zip code in this link:http://www.dyeables.com/pgs/store_locator/index.phpI found my shoes (not this brand) at a local bridal shop - they did a so-so dye job so just make sure to check them before you leave.  PS - I REALLY wanted green shoes to match to wear myself and was having a hard time finding "chartruese" green shoes that were strappy heels.

  • In response the previous pp.  Most likely I'm going to be getting shoes dyed orange for my wedding too because I can't find any.  But I still think it sucks to make your bridesmaids buy shoes they'll never wear again.
  • So true! If I could get brown, that'd be great, but she says were having some "fun" foot shots done...(pics):-)
  • Oh yeah - I agree totally :) and wasn't worried about it.My point was that I wasn't able to find the exact color that I wanted for me so I got them dyed and to watch out for crappy dye jobs just in case.  A lot of the shoes tend to be trendy and peep toe right now and that's just not me...Here's the rest of my confession - I'm not having a wedding party partly because I didn't want to deal with dresses, paying for things, figuring out shoes (dyed or not) and the other part since it's my second wedding and FI's second planned wedding (first one was called off).  I totally agree with you on having your peeps buy stuff they can use again!  I'm ok with spending the money on myself for shoes - but I wouldn't ask BMs to do that.

  • Yea...I wouldn't make my bm's buy stuff they wouldn't wear again. At 1st we could have any color shoes, than she wanted pictures with our shoes on?(IDK..thats the reason for the green). Or pics of our feet? IDK...sounds silly to me...but thats what the bride wants so she shall get:-)
  • I wonder if you can get them redyed black after the wedding?
  • IDK, but I think if I get them dyed once, than they are perm. I went to Payless today and for the shoes and dye job it was $45.00, plus the dress, which was 200 and alterations is $40!!This adds up so fast...:-(
