Destination Help from an old knottie....

So, hopefully a few knotties know me still!! I had a bridesmaid in my wedding that is engaged and after going to our DW, she now wants to do one as well! She's changed her wedding plans completely and now is having trouble picking a place. Can any of you lovely ladies give me some suggestions I can pass along please? Her criteria: 1. Must NOT be in Mexico2. All-inclusive (very important, but not a complete must)3. Relatively cheap4. More secluded and low-keyI would help her out, but we went completely opposite of an all-inclusive so I never researched any of these places!!Thank you!

Re: Destination Help from an old knottie....

  • She should go to Tensing Pen =) Copa Marina in Puerto Rico is sort of all inclusive and secluded and not that expensive and it is very very secluded.Villa Montana is secluded and they do beautiful weddings...but I think it might be a bit more expensive. Also Rincon of the Seas and Rincon Beach. All of this are kinda far away from San Juan and I'm not sure if she is looking for easy access. If she doesn't mind going far from San Juan...maybe drive to Aguadilla and if she is interested in Puerto Rico...I have a few more options.HTH!
  • St.Lucia is a nice island. There are a few all inclusive resorts there, of which I think a few of them are more secluded.
  • She should check out Dominican Republic. It's inexpensive and low key. I'm not sure if it's secluded or not but doesn't hurt to check. She can also check into St. Lucia or Jamaica. I think that is more secluded than any other caribbean islands.
  • Hey Heather! :) I think she should check out the DR. I've heard it's really reasonably priced.
  • She should also check into Tortola. Beautiful secluded and cheaper than other VIs.Pusser's Marina Cay is one of my favorite spots in the Virgin Islands and it doesn't get more secluded...there is nothing else on the Cay there exept for the hotel.
  • Sandals Negril or Sandals Whitehouse in Jamaica. It meets all of her criteria and Negril is very low key and secluded compared to the other Jamaican islands.
  • I will also say that she should check out dominican republic. Mostly all resorts are all inclusive and cheap. We've decided to get married on the sand right in front of the beach and from what I hear is a secluded part of the beach people only go there to eat at the restaurant.

  • That is so nice that you are helping your friend look for a DW spot! From what you have described, I think she should check out Dreams La Romana. It’s located in the Dominican Republic on a beautiful beach. It’s a really great place to have a wedding because it offers such great all-inclusive amenities. Guests will enjoy a mini bar that is restocked daily, unlimited premium drinks, fantastic gourmet meals and 24-hour room service. Guests can also participate in the many activities offered throughout the week. As far as having a wedding there, Dreams truly goes out of their way to make sure everything is perfect for the big day. There are three wedding packages to choose from and each comes with a wedding coordinator, the use of a wedding gazebo, 15% discount on spa services, wedding cake and sparkling wine, service of judge or minister and much more. Check it out here http://tinyurl.com/d2cesc. Good luck!
