"Boobs" sewn in dress?

Hi!So tomorrow is my dress fitting and my seamstress said that she usually prefers to sew pads into the dress so I won't have to worry about a bra, which I am all for. I'm very small uptop so as long as I can put something in there to give me a little something, I am good. So my question is where do I go to get these pads? Craft store? I guess I just need the cups really.....thank you!!

Re: "Boobs" sewn in dress?

  • First of all, thank heaven for the sewn in boobs! Secondly, I believe your seamstress should provide the materials and add it in to your total alteration charges.  I've never heard of the seamstress asking the bride to come up with these, but if she does, she should hve some suggestions of where to find them.Oh, and post some pics after the fitting pleeeease! :)

  • I know VS and other lingerie stores have the boobie cutlets.  Otherwise you might be able to find the cups at a fabric store.
  • VS might let you try them on in the store.  You should ask them so that you can get the full effect before purchasing and not being able to return them.
  • If you want the padding sewn into your dress, the VS "cutlets" probably won't work.  They are typically placed in your bra or a tight shirt/dress that will hold them in place.  If your dress isn't tight up top you may risk having them fall out!  You can the pads your seamstress is talking about at a fabric store.
  • I bought mine for my dress, I found them at JoAnn's Fabric. They have all sorts of different cups including ones with gel and push ups in them. HTH!
