Cancum or on the beach at home?

Trying to decide budget wise which will work out better for us. I want to be married on the beach with a simple cake ceremony after for a few family members. I have found a couple local parks, but the rules are driving me crazy. I would love to go to Cancun for our honeymoon, so a destination wedding there seems to make total sense. How much is reasonable to expect the ceremony to cost on top of an all-inclusive room for a week? Can you bring your own flowers, as I have already decided on my bouquets, etc? Seems like the photography and wedding packages are so pricey!!! Any good deals out there for Cancun that you have found? Thanks in advance.

  • Your questions are extremely general, which is probably why no one has answered you.You can definitely go cheap-cheap and do a wedding in cancun for a few thousand.  Find a 3 star resort, get the MOST basic wedding package, use the resort photographer (that usually comes with the wedding package) and of course you can bring your own flowers...Our wedding was abotu 2 hours south of Cancun, in Tulum and wound up costing us about $20K because we had a lot of people (42) and A LOT of extras including an outside DJ, welcome/rehearsal dinner, outside photographer and our resort was among the best. You should start researching resorts first, choose a cheapie, and then ask about their wedding packages.GL!

  • I'm doing just the wedding at Sandals with a 10 day honeymoon for $5,200. We didn't buy an actual package, we just got the wedding that comes with it.We are only having 18 people plus the photogs, and me and my fi. My Mom is paying for my photogs trip which is $2,000, but you can do that cheaper if you use the Sandals photogs. You can bring silk flowers I think. I'm not having a paid for reception there because it was $50 per person! Instead we are having a small cocktail hour $15 pp and then eating at the banquet hall. We are having an AHR hosted by my Dad in my home town. Let me know if I can help you at all.
