Need suggestions for destination wedding..

Hey! I am helping my sister choose a place to have a destination wedding. She is thinking the caribbean or mexico.  There will only be 25 people including her and her man. They are looking for something simple and intimate. She doesn't have a set budget since she has no idea how much a destination wedding costs. But I would think $5,000 to $7,000 not including photographer, travel, and hotel (but including everything else like hair/makeup, food, booze, rental fee, linens, ceremony, flowers bridal/reception, ect).Does anyone have any good ideas???

  • Congrats to your sister! We are getting hitched in Cozumel, Mexico at the Melia. Their ceremonies are symbolic, so she would need to go to the JOP in her home town to get her marriage license. They have 3 different packages. The middle and the "high end" package include a cocktail hour and reception. We have chosen the middle package and for 24 guests it's about 1300. I would love to upgrade and the upgrade is about 500 more, so we just may. We chose Cozumel because it's close to us, in MX we live on the West Coast but it's on the Caribbean side of MX. It's surrounded by a huge reef so snorkeling and scuba is one of the best in the world! HTH! GL!

  • Congrats to your sister!  We are getting married at the Reef Resort in Grand Cayman.  It is an AI if that is what she is wanting and it is a smaller resort.  Also she might try and contact a TA (i.e. Beach Bum vacations, Destinationweddings.com, liberty travel, etc)  My TA was a great help with finding a location.  HTH

  • One resort in Mexico that I really like is Dreams Puerto Aventuras. I think it would be a perfect spot for your sister’s wedding. The guests will like the resort because there are tons of activities, great food and it’s located on a beautiful beach. Your sister will like it because she will be assigned a wedding planner that will make sure that everything goes as smooth as possible. There are three different wedding packages to choose from. All packages contain preparation and ironing of gowns and tuxedo, brides bouquet and grooms boutonnière, wedding cake, the service of a judge or minister, use of the wedding gazebo and more.
