Jamaica Brides

Which airline did you or your TA choose and  what is a reasonable rate for airline tickets? I'm trying to decide if me and Fi should go ahead and book flights now or see of the prices will go down somemore.

Re: Jamaica Brides

  • We are using U.S. Airways because they have a hub here in Charlotte and it's a direct flight. I only live about 30 minutes from the airport so it's pretty easy. The last thing I wanted was a connecting flight! I am not taking the chance of losing my luggage! We booked our flights right away. The rates were cheap and I'm a planner. I freak out when things are procrastinated. Ask your ta about the prices. Mine is very good with that stuff and can usually give good advice.
  • We just returned from Jamaica and flew US Airways (transferred in Charlotte).  The cost was $530 pp.  You might want to be sure to check the new checked baggage fees too (esp. if you're taking OOT bag items or anything that will weigh/ cause you to have more checked luggage).  US Airways charges for all checked luggage whereas Delta does not (up to 2 bags)  if you're flying to the Caribbean.  It costs us an extra $65 to check our 3 bags.  So the money we saved, wasn't really saved at all.
  • I am not sure where you are flying out of-but we are on American Airlines. But I have some guests coming on AIr Jamaica(got lucky with one of their sales), Continetal, Northwest and Delta. From Houston-I have seen flight as low as $321 for November. I was literally checking every airline everyday for at least 2 months.

  • Air Jamaica has great prices and champagne flights!  They also fly direct out of Philly with awesome flight times so that's what we used when we went to Jamaica.
  • Air Jamaica but they fly out of limited cities.  From Baltimore it's direct - Fabulous!
  • I am flying out of Indiana so we will probably have a changeover no matter which flight we choose.  Thanks for the heads up smile4milz on the airline. I am bringing OOT stuff and bags and advice will help.  I can't wait to read your good, bad, ugly

  • I flew out of Indy too.  My G/B/U was in with my post on 10/13...it's a long post, so be ready to read!  HA!
  • About the cost, we paid $450 but waited to book FMIL's ticket and was able to take advantage of a sale.  Paid $287 for her.
