Okay.. I'll start today... WTF.......(LONG)

FI decided he wanted to order these Acai Berry Pills off the internet (first mistake) that he saw an advertisment for. "FREE TRIAL" yadda, yadda, yadda. So he gets click happy and signs up for these "good for you, weight loss supplement" pills. Well, not only did we get those pills, but three other deliveries of other pills as well. Green Tea Fit, Colo Detox and ColenZen. Whatever. So I immediately call these places to cancel said "Trial Period" because after reading the fine print in the ONE advertisment he got click happy with, it states that "by ordering this free trial, you are also suscribing to a MyFatSavings Club which we will send you a monthly supply of blah, blah, blah..... and bill your credit card $89 blah blah blah." He had 14 days to cancel in which he wouldn't be charged anything. I made sure we canceled way before the 14 day period ~ Long story short, after I called each and everyone of these places, I made sure I got names and confirmation numbers of the cancellations along with Return Authorization Numbers and I mailed all the bottles back to the vendors. WE STILL GET BILLED THE MONTHLY FEE OF $89 plus shippig and handling of $9.95. WTF.... I call the lady at 8 a.m. EST (5 a.m. here) and she says...."oh, well, we don't have a record of you canceling your trial period." And I asked if they received the prodcut back and she says yes. WTF????? Duh, if you received the product back, which by the way I made sure I put the cancellation confirmation nubmer in there, doesn't that mean I canceled the damn thing?!? GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Needless to say, BRIAN IS NOT ALLOWED TO CLICK ON ANYTHING ON THE INTERNET ANYMORE.

  • Wow that is infuriating!!  Can you ask your credit card company to dispute the charges?  You might have to change your credit card number altogether. My WTF for today is: I was browsing the Real Weddings on the Knot that took place in Key West and I think some of them are fake.  Two girls got married on Key West on the same day wearing the same dress.  And they looked like the exact same girl minus a different hair style.
  • That would suck Hopefully you can get your cc company to fight it.

  • that's crap!!all those stupid emails go straight to my spam, thankfully!Try calling your credit card company. That's what I did when I was charged for something that I canceled. I tried to dispute it with the company first, but they "claimed" they never got a cancellation call, even though I had it all documented. so then I called my CC company and they took care of it and got my $$ back!
  • That is terrible.  I hope you get things straight.
  • That sucks Shelli! Good luck with dealing with them, the best thing to do is probably just go directly to your cc company... but I'm sure you've thought of that :)Why can't I just get this "Are you new to the DW Board?" thing to work?! WTF!
  • Ekk what a ridiculous scam!!My WTF is work related, why is everything going wrong for my first event back from the flu...I just want to crawl under the covers and stay in bed!
  • Awe! Shelli sorry you have to deal with all of this!

  • Oh no, sorry Shelli.  Brian step away from the remote and the computer.  That's why mom my shouldn't stay up late at night watching infommercials.  She's notorious for purchasing those things when she's alone. :-) WTF is up with driving to see an appartment last night, only to find out that the manager didn't have the right key to let us in.  We looked like burglars peeking in the windows with flashlights.  We made a follow up on Monday but I'm not too sure about this one.
  • I'm sorry you have to go through this... I work in the news biz and we've covered this scam before. It's a pyramid scheme that will take you for all you got unless you fight it. Even Oprah and Dr. OZ are suing because these companies are falsely using their names to promote it. There are reputable companies that sell Acai Berries but this scam is making their business look bad. This is what experts say you can do to protect yourself... Contact the BBB... keep all necessary paperwork and demand to get your money back or threaten legal action. HTH!
