We were told that many of the items on our registry were no longer available by FMIL.  So we went to update it last night and found a lot of things on it that we couldn't remember registering for.  In their cases it says 0 Requested, 1 purchased, fulfilled.  So come to find out that if someone purchases something else and has them scan our registry, it automatically gets added to the registry.  Or if someone goes shopping for themself in the same trip and doesn't indicate to the cashier which items are from the registry and which are not, their items will be added to the registry as well.  Just thought I'd give you all a heads up.

They're not really added to your registry (meaning that you put it there) but if someone buys something for you and gives them the registry to scan, it shows up as a gift for you.

I had this happen to us. I was registry stalking and saw something we didn't register for, that said registered: 0 purchased: 1. WTF? It did make it easier to take back later though.

That's true that it only shows as an item purchased so it's not like someone will feel that they need to get another.  However we were really confused trying to remember why we registered for some of them.

I used to work there and we were suppose to ask every single person if the item was on a gift registry. They pretty much will add it on so you can still take it back if you don't want it. So people don't get it that you register for a certain reason & still buy other things, lol. Sometimes the cashier doesn't take it off the "registry" button and you see things show up like chocolate bars or something too
