I've been MIA but back and need advice please...

First off Happy New Year to you all!

I have been totally out of the wedding planning loop lately and it was a good break. Now that times ticking I'd like to get some opinions on my current situation.

FI was recently transferred and I was recently promoted. We sent out our STD's back in Sept (1 year out from the wedding). There are about 4 people that we would now like to invite which weren't currently on the guest list. Should we just wait until the formal invites go out or should we give them a STD now?

Thanks for all the wisdon I know you guys have! :)

  • You sent STDs fairly early, so I think it's fine to go on and send them a STD as well because you're closer to the actual STD window now.  On the other hand, if they're in the same groups and know the other STDs have already been received, they might wonder why theirs is coming so much later.

  • Definitely still in the window to send STDs - go for it.  Ditto what ms_teach said - just be aware some people may know you sent a first batch of STDs much earlier.

  • Welcome Back Tiggy! Happy New Year!! I think it is fine to send them a STD now that way they can plan ahead.

  • Happy New Year Tiggy!  I say send them one, or just let them know the details so they can start planning if they're planning on going.  Kind of an informal STD.  We're sending invites to a few people who didn't get STD's cos they weren't on the orignal list.

  • Welcome back, def agree on what other pp said. I think either way would be fine but if they don't realize they will be invited it would be nice to know ahead of time so they can start planning.

  • Welcome back! I think it would be fine to send it out as long as you are confident that they haven't already been told by others that you've sent theirs out awhile back...
  • Oh I suck for not responding to you guys earlier. Work has blocked "the knot" and now that I'm in my new position I'm busier than ever. Thanks for all the advice. We are going to let these extras know verbally since they do know of a few people who are invited...I'm not sure who has told what to who if that makes sense and I'd hate for there to be hurt feelings.

One more day at work...I can do it.....

    thanks again!
