Invitation in a bottle? (XXP)

We are trying to find a cool way to do invites, boarding passes and hotel accomodations. I originally didn't want to do a formal invite because we only need 4 and I couldn't find anywhere to buy only a few invitations. Well tonight I found a cute template from weddingchicks that I think that we'd like to use. It allowed us to customize so it's less like a very formal invite and more "we're so excited you're coming!"

FI saw invites in bottles online earlier and loved them. Has anyone on this board DIY'ed these or anything similar? Any pics to show off or a direction to a bio?

I'm wondering if we should actually roll the invite up and put it in a bottle and the rest of the important papers in an envelope or maybe create a box. I'm thinking something the size of a shirt box with the invitation, their boarding pass, confirmation of their hotel booking and maybe a smaller bottle and some shells packed really cute. I only need to make 4 so it wouldn't be a major time or money investment.

Hit your local dollar store, chicka!! I totally know the groove youre going with and I LIKE IT!
I would splurge on the postage and mail out parcels if you only need 4 and make a very intricate bottle with shells and sand etc on the bottom with a rolled up "letter" inside. I would get really fancy with it and maybe put your monogram on the top of the cork. You could do a very regal type of "invite" with words like "Lord and Lady" etc, then with an almost dry tea bag, stain it so it looks old... then burn the edges a bit with a lighter so that it looks like one of those "lost at sea" invites. Then with it I would send all the important docus in a pocketed folio of some description so that it's all neat and tidy and all together.

The bottles could double up as favors too!
