Hey guys -
So I found out that my venue WILL be a salon bar but only during the day. It will remain the same at night (they are renting the space to a salon for the daytime). We are still very uneasy about this and want to get out of it. Although the space is amazing we just have a bad feeling about everything and have been very unhappy with the communication with the owner.

SO before we booked a venue I had found the perfect spot for us ... but it was not available on our date. We wanted to have the party on a Saturday for out of town guests and the venue is booked every Saturday for the next year ! Well, I found out the Friday is available that weekend. And we are really considering. But we have already sent out our save-the-dates !!! And risk people not being able to make a Friday event. ALSO we already have vendors booked for Saturday, so I would need to verify that they are available for Friday.

We have also looked at 2 other spaces that could work. Not our absolute favorite but very doable !

I am basically asking should we stick with the original venue, change the date to our dream venue, or go with another one altogether.

i am very confused as to how a space can transition from a salon to a bar each day.

and i vote for pushing it to Friday and sending little ammendments to those who got STD's

That salon to bar thing confuses me too hahaha

I vote Friday, but before you book check with your vendors to make sure they are still available. You’ll have to send out an amendment to the STDs anyways if you change the location (which I think you should because this place sounds shady), so I don’t think it will be a big deal to change the date slightly? Most people probably really won’t notice anyways.

Luckily our STD's only have the date and city... not the name of the venue.

A salon bar is a salon with a bar in it. A lot of people go for "ladies nights", bachelorettes, bridal parties, etc. There are a few downtown and people will sometimes go there before an evening out to get styled.

She said all of the salon equipment is on wheels and will be moved to storage at the end of the day and the bar will open at 10pm every night. They do a lot of private events so the bar is actually closed to the public a lot of the times. But we are with you on being confused .... it just does not seem right to us.
