There weren’t many at all. And those that were had a very happy ending. When we were checking our bags at the airport, we found out that Puerto Rico (where our connection was at) had an embargo on boxes. We had a total of 6 boxes, 5 of which were being taken by other people. So we had to buy a duffel bag from AA at the counter and dump all our boxed items in it. The only problem was that my father-in-law was somewhere in the airport with the other. We quickly called him to warn him of the same thing, so by the time he reached the counter he had his money ready and everything. Unfortunately he had all the OOT bag items in his box so Eric’s brothers saw what was supposed to be a surprise. Oh well. Deyanira told us during our meeting that we couldn’t legally have relatives as witnesses even though we asked last year and we sent her their passports in advance. So we had to come up with two more witnesses before Thursday and we decided that our siblings would in turn, walk down the aisle and stand with us. Of course all four of them loved the idea and had no problems at all with the last minute change. And my childhood friend and Eric’s family friend became our witnesses. There were also a few injuries on the trip. One of the guys drunkenly dropped his beer bottle on our balcony and tried to sweep it up with his foot. He ended up cutting it a little but bled so much because of how much he had to drink. By the next day you could hardly see it and he couldn’t even feel it. My cousin was stung twice in the leg by a hornet twice. The first aid kits really came in handy for her. In the pool I was playing volleyball and fell through a grate that was slightly broken. I also cut my foot, but pretty badly. I also got blisters from my sandals because they weren’t broken in and a lot of bug bites all over including my feet. So here are a few words of advice. Make sure all of your shoes, even your sandals are broken in and bring and wear lots of bug spray, no matter how nerdy it seems. We didn’t get any last year, but this year, I was eaten alive by mosquito bites. After all that, I was so glad my wedding shoes were my Converse. And lastly, because it rained during the reception, we weren’t able to play our dance music. So all those long hours Eric put into our play list, weren’t noticed. Although we’re going to try to burn a copy for everyone and send it to them with the thank you card. And in place of it, we went to the disco and casino for a couple hours with everyone which turned out to be a lot of fun.
