dew3162 - st thomas question

Hi,

I am getting married in St Thomas in July and am having a hard time deciding between 2 reception sites.  Since you live in St Thomas, I figured I'd ask you.  Have you ever been to Oceana, Herve', or Grande Cru?  We are going on a cruise, getting married while in port in St Thomas, and having a small reception before heading back to the ship.  I have narrowed it down to those 3 choices.  Do you know anything about any of them?

Thanks for your help.

Re: dew3162 - st thomas question

  • Good morning, I am glad to help out.  I have been to Oceana and Grand Cru but not Herve'.  If I had to choose between the two that I've been to, I would choose Oceana.  It's tucked back out of the way and would give you a more initmate gathering.  Grand Cru is good too, don't get me wrong, it is located in Yacht Haven Grand which is where all the yachts dock when they are in town but in July there aren't many yachts there.  We are in our peak season now.  The food at both are great, especially dessert at Oceana :).  Sorry I can't help you out with Herve' but another option would be the Banana Tree Grille, http://www.bananatreegrille.com/ That is my favorite restaruant on the island and it has a gorgeous view of the harbor.  We were actually going to have our reception there before we changed the wedding to a destination wedding.  If you need anything else, I'm always here Smile
  • Good Morning to you as well!  Thanks so much for your reply.  I actually looked into Banana Tree Grille but they are only open during the evening and wouldn't open early for us.  I am leaning more towards Oceana myself because the from the pictures, it looks beautiful and has that tropical ambience that I'm looking for.  I was thinking about Grande Cru b/c the same people own Oceana and it is located right by the cruise port.  I really appreciate your help with this.  I may bother you again if I have any more questions if you don't mind.  It is nice to talk to someone who lives there.  Have a nice day.
