I am shooting for a destination "elopement." It will just be a beautiful occasion with my beau and myself. I am looking at either Hawaii or Turks and Caicos. My question is this: What should I do about the marriage license? I have reviewed the laws, and understand that the situation is different if I get married in the US versus having the ceremony in the Caribbean, but am wondering, for Hawaii, should I get the license before we leave and then have the officiant sign the day of the wedding? How does that work?
