Inner Envelope Question

For those of you that did inner envelopes.. how did you address them for close friends/bridal party? As "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" or "Joe and Sue"
I googled it and got all kinds of conflicting info!
TIA!

It's up to you.  What we did was just first names.  For Example Sue and Bob, Uncle John and Aunt Betty.

I think the outer envelopes are supposed to be formal, the inner envelopes are less formal. (Regular names, nicknames... Well, normal nicknames. Not like, spanky or something.) :)

Honestly, I don't think anyone will report you to the etiquette police. :)

Thanks Ladies- I like your suggestions... I feel weird putting the "Mr and Mrs." stuff on the inside!
um, I have a few guests that might report me!

Haha. I love it. I probably do too, Jen. Seriously. I'm sure it'll drive them crazy that I'm printing their names on the envelopes, not handwriting everything.

FI and I are apparently bad people - we didn't even do an inner envelope (oh no!). If we did though, it would have been "Jane and John" rather than "Mr. and Mrs. Jones".

Paprika- they won't be able to tell, trust me! At least I am not one to notice...

We actually got a good deal on the calligrapher so it was cheaper to have her do it rather than have them printed on the envelopes.. crazy!

its a friend of a friend that just takes a few jobs on the side. I told her after my wedding, she should really charge more :)

You can always do something different for the older people or the ones you think that will care.  There are some people that we used their nicknames because we knew they would prefer that.

Bean--I skipped the inner envelope, too.
Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.
