Stressed out Bride!

I am trying to plan a wedding in between sickness and family drama. I am 21 years old and currently very ill. My family are a big help for me right now but also a lot of trouble. My fiance and I are newly engaged and both want a small ceremony. We decided on a DW to cut down on costs of a wedding and reception at home. We figure a DW gives us a ceremony and a honeymoon for a great price. We are on a budget since I have medical bills piling up. I am having trouble find a place my family can afford to stay at and enjoy. I know it's my wedding but I want my guests to enjoy themselves also. I try and avoid talking about my wedding with my family because they are not big on weddings. My mom is married but  never had one herself...in fact I am the first to have a wedding. My mom and sis mainly suggest we save our money and go to the courthouse. How do I find a middle to satisfy myself and guests? I would love to elope but my family are important to me. My guests don't have passports so I am looking for places that do not require one. I want a all inclusive resort so we won't have to worry about food or activities. I like the Bahamas, U.S. Virgin Island, Puerto Rico and St. Thomas but I have no I dea which resorts are best.

Re: Stressed out Bride!

  • Bahamas you need a passport, I believe.
For PR and US Virgin Islands you dont.
St. Thomas or most any place in the USVI (St. Croix and St John) are a bit more expensive than PR.
In St. Thomas there are 3 all-inclusive resorts; Bolongo Bay, Wyndham Sugar Bay and Marriott Frenchman's Reef.
In PR I know there are some all-inclusive, but not sure their names, maybe someone with more info will be able to help you with that location.
    Good luck!
