AHR this weekend and RSVP frustration!!!

Our reception is this weekend (YAY!) BUT.... we had a whole 4 people RSVP so this weekend Nick and I hit the phones to get a better count.... we have 80 people that we know of that are coming! We didn't even get ahold of maybe 30 more people in Nick;s family! Really.... 80 people and 4 RSVP's! wth!! Good thing I had enough $$ saved back for this! Geesh people!

WTH is right!?!  I'm glad it worked out though and good for you for being prepared;)  I keep thinking this is going to be how I have to get my guests rsvp's for the wedding...OH BOY!!!

I did put on the invitations to rsvp by phone and left my # and Nick's #. I didn't put email on there, although maybe I should have. Everyone just said "Oh I just thought you would KNOW we were coming!" yeah right!

Wow that sucks you had to make all those calls.  I seriously do not understand people that just assume the hosts know they are coming.  Thats just annoying but I'm so glad you were prepared!

Yikes!  That's a lot of extra phone calls to make!  Sometimes people (meaning guests) need to be more responsive!

I hate this too.  What I hate even more is the fact that I paid for stamps for everyone's RSVPs and instead of mailing them to me, they give them to me in person.....yes, i am happy that I am actually receiving them from them....but god damn it, put it in the mailbox!

Wow, that is crazy! Only 4 RSVPs!! OMG, that would stress me out too. Good thing you started making calls. I'm going to put a phone number and email too for RSVPs...I'm not even going to bother with response cards.

You can put whatever you want on the invite, but hte vast majority will NOT RSVP.  People are simply self-absorbed and rude.  For all the brides-to-be out there....  get ready because over 50% of the people you invite to the wedding will have to be tracked down and over 75% of the people for your AHR will have to be tracked down.  For seriousness.  I wish I was kidding.  My mother said, "surely people will have the sense to RSVP to a wedding???"  Um, no, they don't.

I have my AHR this weekend too and I have had the Admin from work tracking down work peeps.  I am down to knowing for sure for about 50% of the people...  I guess we just buy a bunch of food and pray there is enough!

Even still - I know that there are a few people that said they are coming - but will end up skipping out on us...

That's crazy.... I can't believe people just think your psychic, and know their coming.  I know it's not a 'traditional' reception, but still how are you supposed to plan anything without a head count.....  I can't believe people. 

I'm glad you were prepared though!
