New DW Bride! Possible Jamaica wedding?

Hi everyone!

I'm newly engaged and have decided to do a destination wedding!  My fiancee and I are from opposite sides of the US and love the beach so we figured a DW would be best.  I'm very excited and happy to see there is so much info on this board!

I am still in the destination decision-making process.  I contacted Beach Bum when we first decided to do a DW but am not having much luck.  My TA responds very slowly and has been out of town for probably 10/14 days.  But with a little of my own research, I think I've been leaning towards Jamaica.  I've read that most people really love Negril.  Any tips?

Welcome and congrats!!! We chose a DW because we are from opposite side of the country as well -- my family is from WI and my FI family is from TX.

Perhaps you can request a new TA? I know a few girls have done that. I'm working with Melissa and she is great and very responsive!

We are getting married in Montego Bay, Jamaica but looked at Negril and it's gorgeous!! Half Moon Resort is beautiful -- I love the cliffs on that side of the island!

Thank you!  Yes, it will be so much fun.  My family is from Alaska so it will be a great vacation from them and my FI family is from VT.  

I think I will try to request a new one.  I'm just one of those strange people who avoids any and all confrontations but this is my wedding so I should try to alleviate any stress! 

Montego Bay is definitely a possibility for me as well! It all looks gorgeous.  I will have to check out Half Moon Resort--thanks for the tip!

Welcome and congrats! Def get a new TA if you are unhappy already. It's to early in your planning to be disappointed! Stick around, the ladies are awesome here!

I'm also working with BBV and I am working with Steve, he has been great and has always been quick to respond... I definitely would request a new one.  Your TA should be someone you are confident in and can help you not someone you can hardly get a hold of.

I am not a Jamaica Bride, but Montego Bay is where the airport is, if you want to cut down on some of the overall travel time. When we went to Jamaica a few years ago, it took us about an hour or so to get to Negril from the Montego Bay Airport.

Welcome and congrats!!! I'm getting married in Mexico, but I use BBV too. I work with Kristin and she's awesome. I agree with the girls, you need someone you can trust. Kristin always answers me right away and she even met me in person! I would definitely request a new TA.
