Bail?

I can't believe I never noticed that little radio button next to "Vacation" on kayak.com, where I usually go to check airfare...  Usually through Orbitz, wonderful package deals on air and hotel popped up - then you can even add all of the extras at the end.  Shock and awe!

So as I was continuing my research of a European DW, and landed in Venice, and discovered the Gondola wedding and quickly realized it would cost a fortune.  This took me right back to day one of my research, in the Venetian hotel in Vegas, and their $800-900 private gondola wedding.  Rates are lowest at the end of this month...  We could go there, stay in a super luxury suite, do the deed, catch a few shows, eat some tasty noms, even have a limo transfer to and from the airport - for less than $2500.

Is it wrong that I'm seriously considering a quiet elopment to Vegas, totally faking the  feel of Venice for about a third of the price? lol.... If I already had a dress, I probably would have booked it last night!   I'm thinking we could then afford a decent AHR and take a real honeymoon somewhere down the road.

Or do I save this little bit, continue waiting until November, and marry my Sweetheart alone in Jamaica?

I have decided I'm not cut out for this bride thing.  I want it to be so perfect for both of us.

  • It's really up to you.  If you are fine about it, which is sounds like you are since you would have booked it last night, I would definitely go with it.  Sounds like fun!
  • I got engaged on a gondola at the Venetian.  I think it's a great idea and if you do it, you must stay in a suite at the Palazzo the new tower off the Venetian.  They are amwazing.  We really love that hotel and everyone is so nice and accomidating.

  • Are there people staring at you the entire gondola ride?  Did you stay in a concierge suite at the Pallazzo?  I was wondering which tower was better!  Thanks for any advice :)  It keeps sounding easier and easier.  :)

  • Nothing wrong with the two of you going off on your own no matter when & where you do it! It's about committing to each other for the rest of your lives, and as long as you're happy with when/where/how, etc, I say go for it!!  :)
