I'm stressing out a bit. Ok, a lot. When FI and I were talking about doing a planning trip for Maui, he had to ask for time off at work. Which he got, but he was also told that they always approve vacations 2 weeks and under. He then asked what if someone wanted more than 2 weeks off and was told that person would have to quit and the reapply when they came back too see if there was still a position available for them. WTF!? FI works construction and he's their lead windows guy. He already doesn't get pd vacation and on top of it he will lose his job and have to reapply if he wants three weeks off for our wedding and honeymoon. If he's going to have to quit and reapply that means he's going to end up having at least 4 weeks off. With no pay! And we wouldn't know for sure if he'd get his job back. Im majorly stressing over this!!!
He wants to talk to his boss about it, but he was just about to talk to him about a raise. Of course, that's important, too. He doesn't want to ask him about 3 weeks off until the begining of the year after he's asked about the raise. Ugh! I can't wait that long to know if I have to replan everything. This wedding and honeymoon planning stuff isn't easy! As you all, well know.
Soooooo.... Do I wait it out until the begining of the year or just make other plans now? If I make the other plans now, he'd never have to ask for a special 3 weeks off. We could go to Maui for 2 weeks, still do everything for the wedding and then stay on Maui for a few days after the wedding. We'd than go back for a honeymoon in October to Hawaii and Oahu. Of course, that would cost more money. Ugh! I don't even want to think about this.
