Here's the delimma. Is it possible to have two receptions? I've always wanted a destination beach wedding, and my FI was awesome enough to agree to that. We plan on inviting everyone. But, with the economy the way it is, we know not everyone will have the time from work and money to go. So, we have been discussing a reception stateside. But where? Where we live (which is about an hour from his family) or where I grew up (which is about 500 miles away)?
My mother, of course, is pushing for the reception at my childhood home. But, I'm worried about alienating the friends I see more frequently because they would be asked to travel to either location.
Has anyone else been stuck in this position?
