Dress is wrinkled, suggestions?

Okay, I probably should have thought about this with more than a week before my wedding, but I have a question.  I was at the seamstress the other day and noticed my dress has a lot of wrinkles.  With the 13 hour car trip, even if I get the wrinkles out before we leave, it will inevitably become wrinkled again.  What are you doing to prevent/take care of the dress wrinkling?  We'll be arriving in Port Canaveral 2 days before we sail for our wedding..Any suggestions??  I'm just terrified that something will stain/burn my dress if I try to get the wrinkles out.

  • Either ask the cruise if they will steam (i would call ahead of time) or find a local place that will steam it OR purchase a steamer and bring it with you... BBB has a decent one that is good for travel for $40-50 w/o a 20% off coupon.

<div>Ditto!  I'd definitely ask if they can steam it on board, otherwise buy the travel one.  Having a steamer of your own wouldn't be too bad since you can use it in the future (less ironing!) and if you have bridesmaids you can steam their dresses as well.</div>

  • I agree, I asked my WP the same question, and she said that it was part of her services to steam the bride and grooms clothes... they may have something already in place if its a wedding package, if not I'm sure they have an answer because this may come a up a lot for them.... but bringing your own steamer would be a good back up.  Good luck!
  • I'm sure you can have it steamed on the ship.  And WOW a 13 hour car ride - Yuck!
  • Thanks everyone! I'm going to call the WP tomorrow.  I actually don't mind the car ride, my fiancé and I love road trips :)  We make our playlist a week in advance, rent audio books, stop at interesting-looking-places, etc. Plus we don't have to worry about how much space our luggage takes up/pay to check bags, etc!  I like flying too though, I guess I just love travel in general.
