Sand ceremony vases and sand

For those doing a sand ceremony, where did you get your containers/vases and the sand? I was hoping to go to Michael's at some point and pick that stuff up, but they didn't really have anything online so that makes me worried they won't in the store. Also, did you get colored sand and if so did it come that way or did you have to dye it?

I think this is actually my last thing I need to get (well besides seeing if I want to get some more clothes and books for reading on the plane/beach).

Oh yeah, can I just say this: TWO WEEKS!!!!!

We initially planned to do a sand ceremony, but I changed my mind because I'm so OCD that I didn't think the sand would still look "pretty" after traveling home with it. 

BUT, we were going to buy our center vase online and use skinny bud vases from hobby lobby to hold our sand.  They did have several other bottles with stoppers that wold have worked for the main container.  I had also looked at pre-colored sand in our wedding colors there.

i'm planning on getting this. Fi's is pretty resourceful and we're going to try it before we go, filling it with sand and then putting it in a suitcase to see how it holds up, and if doesn't work, like I said, FI is pretty resourceful and will figure out a way to keep it contained.

I know you can get colored sand, but if you want a pretty specific color, might be better to dye it yourself...I haven't seen a whole lot of different colors.

I found some great vases from exclusivelyweddings.com (I've been buying from them a lot lately...kinda feel like I'm pimping them out!)  I found my sand in my colors from them too (pic in bio).  Just throwing it out there since I just got sand...each bag was 2.95...so I was ok with that!  HTH's!
