Day of Jewelry

What did you wear (pearls, diamonds, costume, something simple...)? Also, did you do necklace, earrings and bracelet or some combination of the 3?

My mom gave me a box filled with my grandmothers jewelry to choose from.  I'm lost, there's too many beautiful choices.  I know pearls are traditional, but do brides now shy away from that and go with something more bold?

My dress would really go with anything and I'm wearing a crystal hair comb across the crown of my head over curls for the reception.

I'm going to have to buy earrings either way b/c it's mostly necklaces and bracelets.  Her earrings are all screw ons (the old fashioned clip ons).  My mom also said she could take them to a jeweler and have them turned into pierced earrings if I want.

Sorry this got kinda long. TIA!

I have earrings and am looking for a bracelet. PIB of earrings. I do not want a necklace bc the earrings are enough.

I wore diamond studs and a matching pearl and crystal necklace/bracelet set that I got on etsy.

Thanks!  To answer your question, I like simpler jewelry or one stand out piece and the rest simple.

What I have is mostly pearls.  There's also a stand out set of costume jewelrey.  It's not real diamonds or anything but it's beautiful.  There is a diamond bracelet that goes well with it though.
I was thinking pearls to keep it simple b/c I'm not much of a jewelry person but I feel like that would surprise everyone even more and add more to the outfit if it were sparkly.  I have my next fitting next week and I'm going to take it all with me to see what goes best.  I'm just wondering what everyone else does.

Post pictures of your dress and the jewelry options. Maybe we can help you decide. I'm still looking for something but i'm planning on just doing earrings and a braclet...something sparkly.

I think pearls are traditional and classic... they're not "in" or "out".  They will always be fashionable IMO (with the right outfit).  A lot of people wear pearls for their wedding.... check out the cute necklack MadamA wore  :)

I personally wore costume jewelry from Macys.  I got a chunky bracelet and earrings, and after my 2nd fitting decided I needed a necklace, so I exchanged the earrings and got a necklace.

Since it's your grandmother's jewelry and you already have posession of it, take a few of the pieces you like with you to a fitting (if you have one) and try everything on with the dress.  Looking at it all together, on you, will probably help you decide.

Why not do both. Wear pearls for the ceremony and jazz it up a bit if you want to for the reception.

I'm wearing a diamond necklace that was made from my nana's and mama house (great-grandmother and grandmother respectively) that was given to me by my pop pop. Probably diamond studs although I have 2 holes per ear, so I might do a simple hoop and studs or larger and then smaller studs not sure. And I'll probably wear a bracelet not sure if it will be borrowed from my mom, mama house's jewlery or bought from etsy since there is one that would match my dress perfectly.

Aw thanks Hil! I got it from Etsy.

I 100% agree about pearls, but it is definitely "to each her own"!

    Here's my jewelry =)

    The necklace (LOVE!)...

And a decent shot of my earrings... pretty small and simple, but I loved them...

I wore earrings and a bracelet. No necklace because my dress had a lot of beading up top. My earrings and bracelet were very dramatic though which is what I wanted. I love chandelier earrings.

I wore big pearl drop earrings.  I didn't want to wear a necklace but my about to be husband gave me one as a gift.  And who could resist wearing an Elsa Peretti open heart pearl necklace from Tiffany! Smile
