Just got back from a 6 hr shopping trip with my mom. Seriously. 6 hours. We started off at Nordstrom & Neiman Marcus, because my mother said that she wanted a really nice dress. And after the sticker shock for her, we tried Lane Bryant (which had ZERO dresses. Zero.) and then JC Penney. And we found a great dress at JC Penney!
I tried finding it online, but I couldn't find the exact dress. This one is really close. The color is right. My mom's dress has a higher neckline (more classic 60s neckline) and the pattern is leaves, not hawaiian flowers:

Amer big time for talking about Intimacy all the time, because I forced my mother to go there, and she got a bra and Spanx, which made the dress fit so much better. The bra was more expensive than the dress, but whatever.
Then we tried Macy's because my mom liked her dress, but she didn't LOVE her dress... and I found a dress for me instead. All the dresses that were in her house were very...muumuu like.
And of course I can't find the dress that I bought online either. It's basically this dress, but more white and with orange flowers:
