Roll Call?

 I'm sure that as time goes on more people will be joining (hopefully none of us will be leaving unless we choose another month) so I was just thinking it would be nice to just have a roll call like some of the other boards. This way we could get to know each other and the new people could introduce themselves. just a suggestion

C told me a few times that morning that he was going to give me an early Christmas present. He was sitting on the couch playing video games so I went along with my business getting a shower, cutting my nails, blow drying and straightening my hair, changing the sheets. I was about to put my makeup on when he told me that he wanted to give me my present now. He told me to sit on the couch while he went to the closet and got a box. I opened it and it was a box of chocolates from my favorite candy store. I opened it and like always there was candy in there, but in the middle there was a little white box. I asked him "Babe, what's this" he said "I think you know, open it" I opened it and there was a beautiful ring, the next thing I know he is on one knee and he asked me to be his wife. I threw the box aside and I tackled him while screaming YES. We were so excited that we forgot to put the ring on. So 10 min later he finds the ring and puts it my my finger.

I wanted to show you guys. My Mom gave me my Birthday present early because she was so excited. It's my Frankenstein/bride of Frankenstein cake topper.

When did you get engaged, and how: Sept 12, 2009 - We were on vacation in CA.  We had just arrived in San Fran; checked into our hotel room.  He said we have one more stop to make before we come back to get ready for our (surprise) evening out.  I know NOTHING about CA, so I really wasn't paying attention to where we were driving to.  Next thing I know we are at the Golden Gate Bridge - at sunset.  We're standing overlooking the view (it looked down onto the spot from Vertigo, one of ourfavorite movies) and he was behind me.  Next thing I know, in an increibly graceful move, he's turned me around, gotten on one knee and proposed.  I couldn't speak right away, just nodding and crying.  He finally asked me to verbalize my "yes".  The surprise that night was a CD release party of one of our favorite bands.

My mom had gotten us a small christmas tree and told us to make sure we took pictures in front of the fireplace with it pretending it was our first christmas in the house. We did and then I was getting impatient and really cold and wanted to leave. Joe kept trying to distract me and get me to look at random stuff but I still wanted to leave. So he had to change his plans of asking me infront of the fireplace and as I was at the top of the stairs he came over to me and being his normal gentleman self said "let me hold that stuff for you" and got down on one knee at the same time he grabbed whatever out of my hand and asked me to marry him!!!!

When did you get engaged, and how: February 13 of this year. Rick told me we were going to dinner with his sister, then took me to the place where we met. He gave me a gift bag-- for Valentine's Day, he said-- and there was a nice pair of earrings and really sweet card. He told me to read the card out loud, and it was about spending the rest of our lives together. He dropped his keys as I was reading the card, and when I finished reading it, he was down on his knee with the ring. I said yes, and he said we could go anywhere I wanted to. I said I wanted to go to my mom's house to show her the ring, and he said, "Good-- both our families are there waiting for us." He took me to a surprise engagement party at my parents' house our families had planned. It was very sweet and fit us as a couple really nicely.

(He later told me he knew what was wrong-lol) We got home and after I unpacked, I was sitting on the couch he came up to me and said he had a gift for me. He pulled out the box from behind his back and got down on one knee. I said "You are not doing this to me right now!" and started to cry. He said "Sabrina will you marry me and be my Valentine forever?" I was crying so hard I couldn't say yes right away, but eventually I said Yes! and he put the ring on my finger : )

After work we ate dinner then my FI started playing with our two little dogs. They were tearing apart on of their toys and making a huge mess so I told FI to take the toy away and clean up the mess. FI then acted very childish and said i should take the toy away because i'm their "dog mom" lol. after going back and fourth I caved and picked up their dog toy and to my suprise there was not a squeeker in the toy, but a ring box! he then proposed to me with what i didnt know at the time was a "fake" $6 ring. He asked if i loved in and I went on and on saying it was wonderful (i was still in shock from the proposal). FI then calmly told me I should go get my "real" ring. I went back to the jewerly box and looked further inside and found my actual ring, and lets just saw it was A LOT better than the "fake" one

We had dinner and I was so nervous!! All, I kept thinking was is this going to be it? Then after dinner we went to a beach just outside of Chicago, which is considered "our spot". When we were walking up the beach I saw a table set up with candles and rose petals,  a single rose, and a cd player. We danced on the beach to "our songs" and after that he gave me a letter and had me listen to a song I haven't heard yet, and after that he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him!! I was so excited and crying that I ran and tackled him in the sand!! I didn't even look at the ring until we got back in to the car.

2/14/11 Johnny had planned a great dinner where he was going to propose on Valentine's Day. However he made the mistake of telling me that he would give me my present at dinner. I am very impatient. I decided we should go to lunch instead of dinner. As we were headed to lunch I changed my mind and instead of going to the great restaurant he wanted to, we went to a mom and pop fried seafood place instead. As soon as we set down at our table I instantly said so "What did you get me?” He looked at me and asked me to be his wife. That’s what I get for being pushy. It was still an amazing moment!

April Fools Day 2011!  He had no idea what day it was,  just that I was getting home from a trip to Vegas and it was a Friday night and I would be off work.  After we ate dinner he wanted to take our dogs for a walk at one of my favorite places.  It was dark and I was full but I never said anything and I'm so glad now!  We were walking on a path through the woods and I had just been commenting on how special it was and how nobody ever enjoys the park at that time of night and it was very romantic.  He told me he had one goal for the year and he needed my help and then he was down on his knee!  The box had a light in it shining down on the most beautiful ring I have ever seen!  We both were crying!

When did you get engaged, and how: June 23/2010 - We went to Portugal for 2 weeks on vacation. One of the days we were there, we went to visit the castle of the first king of Portugal. We took plenty of pictures in front of the statue with my camera, but on our way back, he insited he wanted pictures with his camera. So I agreed and got someone that was there to take some pictures of us. So my FI was explaining to the guy how to work his camera and I was waiting for him by the statue. As he joined me, I was just staring towards the guy holding the camera, when I turned to look at my FI, he was down on his knee holding the ring in his hand! I was in total shock, couldn't breath, cried, couldn't say a word, people were stopping by to see, when he finally said "would you marry me?". I screamed YES and hugging him and kissed him, meanwhile the guy who was taking the pictures actually took pictures of everything. I was so excited and surprised and I then found out that while I was waiting for my FI to take the pictures, he was actually telling the guy to not take any pictures until he was down on his knee... hihi...

By the way, the stories I read here are great! I'm so happy to be part of an amaizing group of knotties.

we went on our date night as usual. we were going to dinner and we went to the place that we had our first date. It is called Newport on the Levee. After dinner we were walking to our car and there are horse drawn carrages that take you on a tour of Cincinnati. He said "lets go on one" and he asked me in the Carrage..
