I was wondering if anyone else is wearing colored shoes.  I want to wear burgandy shoes to make my bm dresses.  I can't seem to find shoes that I like either in the color already.  I was wondering has anyone ever had shoes dyed.  Does the colors run?

I have never personally dyed shoes, but one of my BM was in a wedding where they wore dyed ones. It rained, and the shoes were ruined. She said they ran like crazy and looked awful.

I want to do orange shoes...if I can find a pair I love. I thought about dying some but I've heard that they run too. So I think if I can't find orange ones, i'll just stick to white.

Try looking online at places like endless.com or 6pm.com, you'll find more variety in color than you usually will in a physical shoe store. It might not be an exact match for your BM dresses, but I'll bet you can get close. This is what I did with my shoes, which are yellow and will match the vest and tie on FI's tux. I'd recommend against dyed shoes if you're doing any part of the wedding outdoors, but if you're going to be mainly inside there's probably no harm in getting dyed ones if you can't find a pair in the color you want. I'm going to be wearing orange shoes one way or another. I won't dye them as they run and who wants orange dye on their wedding dress or staining their feet?

thanks everyone.  I really appreciate the advice about the dyed shoes.  If it is nice weather my ceremony will be outside.  Music11 the link does not work.

I never thought about (or heard about) dyed shoes running although now that it's mentioned, it makes complete sense. Do your shoes HAVE to be dyed? You can always try to find some using a swatch of fabric from the dresses.

i also get weird looks when i say im going to wear colored shoes.  I think im going to try and find shoes that are similar to the color already.
