DIYing my shoes - need opinions

I bought some shoes with the intention of sprucing them up a bit.  They are the purple ones shown below.  I just bought some swarovski crystals in 3 different sizes and I am going to strass the heal.  Now, I am trying to decide if I should do some sort of shoe clip on the front by my toes or if I should do it on the side by the ankle strap.  My worry with doing it on the toes is that I would do feathers (like the second picture) with a very small rhinestone brooch and I am afraid that my dress dragging against it will just ruin the feather within a couple of hours.  If I were to do it on the side, I would either do feathers like the last picture or a flower like the third picture.

So, should I do toes or ankle?

I like the front. I think the dress will rub either way... just get your photog to take pictures right away of your shoes!

I like the ankle, but it's more likely to been seen on the front, and as mana said, I think either way it's going to take some abuse.

I love the clip in the front, probably what I am going to do as well :-) (on purple shoes too!)

I like the clip on front. As PP said, get pictures right away or they'll most likely look droppy and sad before long.

I like it on the back especially if you are going to bling the heel.  I think that if you do the heel and put the feathers on the toe, it will be way too busy.

I like the feathers on the ankles. I also like the flower, but I know you like the feathers. Either way I like it on the ankle. As Mana said, I would take the pictures right away, either way I think it will get some type of abuse unfortunately.

I like it on the ankle better, but honeslty I don't really like flowers on shoes.  If I were doing it I would stick a short line of crystals on the side (just in the middle, not all the way up), and maybe stick a small cluster on the toe as well.
