Wedding hair color-PIP heavy

I've been coloring my hair for a while now but decided I want to be as close to my natural color as I can be for the wedding. I used to have my sylist do it but, I've been doing it myself for the past year or so. For reference, this pic is 3 or so years old but I'm pretty sure I hadn't started coloring my hair myself yet and I know anything the sylist had done would have grown out.

I've done reddish brown (please excuse the crappyness of this photo)

and right now I'm more or less just a darkish brown

I've started rethinking the idea of getting back to natural. I figure I'll probably continue to change my haircolor (I'm already looking at what I'm going to after the wedding) so why does it matter what color my hair is for wedding photos. FI loves it when I've got reddish hair but I don't want a bright red. I'm thinking either go with the original idea of getting back close to natural or going medium/dark brown with a reddish tint. Up until recently I've always seen imagined having lighter hair for my wedding so that why this change of mind has me so confused. No matter what I decide, my hair sylist will be doing the color. I don't want my wedding hair to be out of a box.

So ladies, what do you think? Natural, Brown with a red tint or something else I haven't thought of?

  • I like the redish hair best. I feel like it wakes up your skin the most.

  • Agree with PP.

Your skin tones look warmer with the red-tinted hair.

Full disclosure: as a redhead, I may be biased here :)
  • I'm also a redhead and have a huge redhead bias. I'm also a hairstylist and for every person that WANTS red tones in their hair, more than half shouldn't and you are NOT one of those people. You look great with red tones! I really like your hair in the second picture. The color is great with your skin tone and makes your eyes POP!

  • As a natural blonde who often dyes her hair dark, I say go for the reddish tones. I usually have them in my hair when I dye it dark to counter the yellow of blonde and avoid going green, so I may be a little biased!

When I was having my stylist do it, I would go a nice copper red. We always knew it was the right color when my ends matched my dad's beard. Maybe I should go closer to the copper with a little bit of brown in it? FI thinks I should go with the Splat Lucious Raspberries (<clicky), lol.

  • I like the dark brown...but I always love dark hair colors, I guess b/c I am a brunette. lol Anyways, if FI likes the little bit of red. I would go for that. Plus, I like it myself too on you. Let us know what you decide. :)

  • I'm leaning more and more to having at least some red in there. I'll probably hold off the final decision until I talk to her, but I don't know when that will be. Thanks for your input ladies!
