DIY Table Numbers (PIP)-- opinions please

Ok...so our reception is in an old mansion in a really ornate ballroom. I wanted to do something for our table numbers that felt antique or at least fit the feel of the room. My biggest fear with DIY stuff is that everyone will be able to tell that it's DIY. I want it to look professional quality. Not like a craft project. SO....I need some HONEST opinions please. I can definitely go back to the drawing board with these table numbers if I'm missing my mark. Do you think they look cheap?

I do not think they look cheap at all.  But the letter O font is a little weird to me. It almost looks more like a C to me.   Which I know when it is on the table people are definitely going to know it is not a C but you were asking for honesty.   Also how will you display these on your tables?  I think depending on how they are displayed could make it look more or less professional.

  • I really like the design and don't think it looks too DIY.  The only thing I'm not crazy about is the font color.  Is that one of your wedding colors?  I think to add to the antique feel, use a softer color like a pale pink or grey? or even black? Just an idea.
  • It looks really nice, I think you're safe!

  • Thanks for the feeback ladies! I'm gonna explore other ideas, but it's a good start I guess. I'm not crazy about the way the "O" looks either. This is the font we are using on everything else, so I'm probably gonna have to live with it. Navy blue is one of our colors and the ballroom also has navy blue accents.

As far as table setup, I think I will just have it in a low placecard holder type of thing. It would be so helpful to actually SEE a table setup. It's hard to visualize.

  • Would it be possible to just change the font for the O one that looks similar?

Oh ok.  The navy doesn't really come across on my computer and I thought it was more of a royal blue.  I dig navy though :)
  • I just did this and I think I prefer it. More simplistic, but still classy I think. Which do you prefer?

  • Personally I prefer your second option.

  • Personally, I would change the base to a navy color - instead of that natural color you have on there.  It's hard to tell from the photo what the material is made of.  But it's kind of looking like cardboard due to the color.  That could make it look cheap.

Relooking at it, maybe it's metallic gold.  But I would swap those colors.  Do a navy blue base and gold font.
  • I like ricasunga's idea! I think I might like the navy blue behind it. I also am not sure about the lettering. It might be hard to read at the reception, maybe numbers?
