Our date is Oct 14th and while I normally wouldn't be sending out STDs if it were a "regular" weekend, it's the Sunday after Columbus Day and I didn't want the guests to get confused. I hope to schedule our e-pic session soon but we may have to push it to May if we can't get all of the schedules coordinated and this includes the videographer (I want to use our pics in the STDs). I feel like we should be okay but I'm also considering the turnaround time for getting the pics back and (finally) deciding on a STD design.

We're at just about 6 months now & those "useful" timelines have me overthinking it a bit. What's the absolute latest date that I should look to get them out?

Everything that I have read has said 6 to 8 months before the wedding date.  If you can have them ready to send out by Mid May, I think you should be ok.  Even late May.  No one is going to raise an eyebrow so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I'm getting married October 20th and I'm not sending out my STDs until the first week of May.

Ditto to previous post that sometime in May should work depending on turnaround, ask your photographer how long it would take to get the pics to you. I did my engagement shoot on a Monday, was online the next day and had the pics on a CD to me by the end of the week...

Our date is October 11th, and mine are about 3/4 of the way done being addressed...waiting on dear FI to finish getting family addresses! Aiming for an April 1st mailing date.

Depends on how far your guests will be traveling.  I have about 70 people coming from 500+ miles away, so I sent them a month or two ago so they had plenty of time to make arrangements.  But I only sent them to my out of towners.  Basically the further they have to travel, the sooner you should try to get them out.

That being said I think if you sent them out in late May you'll be fine.  It's not even like you're required to send them at all.

I am so happy I'm on this monthly board. I thought the same thing! I thought I was way behind.

Mine will be going out the week after easter, so like I thought here I was way behind because of the 8 month thing, but this confirms me I'll be fine.
