Re: Honeymoon

  • We're going to Ireland. We booked back in Janaury when Air Transat had a seat sale. We aren't doing a "package tour" b/c I hate them. I much prefer to plan our our own itinerary based on our interests. I just booked the tickets with my regular travel agent.

  • Not a clue yet. We keep going back and forth between tropical (like the Caribbean) and something we really want to do (like Europe). We won't be going until Christmas though, so we'll probably plan a trip after the wedding (we both have passports and can find cheap flights relatively last minute) and go from there.

  • We are going to El Dorado Seaside.  We haven't booked it yet, but we are planning to next month.  We are going through our travel agent - she's amazing and doing it this way, we only have to put down about 20% of the total and we will pay the rest off at the beginning of September.

@ PetalPockets... we were dead set on Sandals St. Lucia too but the airfare from NY was just making our budget crazy so I'm really jealous of you lol!

Most likely going to Varadero Cuba Iberostar for two weeks. We haven't book yet because it depends on FI's job, as to when we can go.
  • We want to go to Hawaii, Waikiki is what we had in mind, but haven't booked yet, watching for a great deal.  If anyone knows of any awesome deals send them my way!  :)

  • We are going to P*nta Cana, Dominican Republic.

If you're looking for deals, check out www.cheapcaribbean.com. That's where we booked through, and they have fantastic prices that include airfare to all inclusive resorts. Definitely worth a browse (careful, it sucks you with all the great deals :) ).

How did you pick which Secrets resort to go to?
  • We're going to Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.  It's an adults only all-inclusive.  I actually just booked it last week and I booked through the resort's website as they were offering the best deal.  The other websites I checked (including Costco Travel) weren't reflecting the best deal they have going on right now.

The deal ends on March 15!

  • I have no idea where we are going, lol. FI is taking care of all that, and having lots of fun. He showed me his top three choices and then he'll be picking from that. They are all sandals all-inclusive resorts but I won't know where we're headed til I'm on the plane! He is booking through a travel agent.

  • We're from the middle of the country, borrrrrrrring.  So we're going to Myrtle beach.  LOL.  Not too glamourous, but it's affordable... LOL

    Mom to D.A (11.09) and 3 beautiful angels (06.08, 03.11, 07.12)
  • Eastern Carribean Cruise through Carnival...i had registered through the site just browsing and then an agent from the company called, sold me on it, lol and I booked over the phone.
  • RockstarWifey, Myrtle Beach sounds lovely!  FI and I had the same problem travelwise-- we live in NYC, but we're getting married in our hometown of STL (woohoo!), so international flights are insanely expensive.

People were a little surprised we picked Lake Tahoe for our honeymoon because we travel a lot, especially internationally, but international flights from Lambert aren't exactly cheap.  We were able to use miles all the way for the Tahoe flights (booked through the airline), so that was great.

We thought about Myrtle Beach, too, but once we saw the zipline in Tahoe we were sold!

  • We're going to a beautiful hotel in Whitefield NH. We're all about relaxing and didn't want the stress of air travel the day after our wedding. We'll be going on a cruise through the caribbean on our anniversary!
It doesn't have to be perfect to be everything I want!

  • I have never booked a whole trip online, do we have to pay for the whole thing when we book or do we pay for it when we get there? I may just  go to a travel agent
  • We are going to Hawaii for two weeks :)  We are using our time share and my FMIL timeshare to stay on two of the islands for a week each.  I say if anyone has timeshares in your family that they are a great way to cut down on the costs of accomodations for the honeymoon. Our honeymoon will be my first vacation from my preschool teaching job in a year so needless to say I am looking forward to it for many reasons!!
  • We booked ours in February. We didnt have a lot of money to spend on the honeymoon and we didnt want to go overseas mainly because I don't want to take an airplane. Lol but we booked the French manor in the Poconos, In the mountains in Pennsylvania for 3 nights and 4 days. We don't really like hot weather and we love the mountains so it was perfect for us.
